I grew up in East Hampton, NY and went
to Emma Willard in Albany for high school, after which I
studied biology at Mount Holyoke College. I then moved out
to Boston and started doing academic research involving
protein folding and Alzheimer's Disease, which resulted
in several publications. For over a year, I did assay development
for antibodies and cancer therapeutics at a biotech company
in MA, where I also gained certifications in chemical hygiene
and hazmat response. In Fall 2006, I began the journey to
get my PhD in biochemistry and molecular pharmacology at
UMass Medical School in Worcester. I hope to go back into
biotech afterwards but continue having a research-oriented
career focus. In the next few years, my goals include getting
another car and a dog! I currently drive a '93 Sentra SE-R
and would like to turn it into a dedicated racer. In terms
of motorsports, I particularly love F1 and being crew chief
for Trunkmonkey Racing.

I grew up in Huntington, NY for 14 years
before moving to central Massachusetts with my family and
starting high school. After a short time at Uxbridge High
School, I enrolled in the Massachusetts Academy for Math
and Science at WPI. After that, tired of living in central
MA, I ventured out to Ann Arbor, MI for college at the University
of Michigan. I studied cognitive and computer sciences there,
and rediscovered my latent interest in computer graphics
and virtual reality. After school, I moved back to New England
and began work as a systems engineer at a small R&D company
in New Hampshire. My work generally centers around software
and hardware design for virtual and augmented reality systems,
and recently, gaming and entertainment systems. So far,
I have six issued US patents on my inventions, with more
pending. My other interests include motorsports (particularly
rallying, where I'm the co-driver for the Trunkmonkey Racing
rally team) and photography.

Lame as it is, we met online! We were
both on emode.com looking to meet more people, and Andrew
emailed me and we began talking often. We met for sushi
in Boston and went for coffee on Newbury Street the first
night we met; we sat in the Copley square park talking for
hours. We started spending a lot of time together driving
around, going to beaches and out to clubs and dinners. He
helped me move into my new apartment and we just fell into
dating right away (Sept 1, 2003!), and never looked back.
The next year was a whirlwind introduction to the world
of motorsports (including karting, auto repair projects, trips
to watch races and rallies all over the northeast) and barbecue
cuisine (through alarmingly frequent trips to Redbones in Davis Square,
where I was living). A year later, we moved in together in
Nashua, and we just seem to keep getting happier!
